DIY Hostess Gift

Picture 13

I love stepping out of the box and giving something fab for a hostess gift. Making something yourself can be super easy and so much more special than the usual generic go to’s! No more drab wine bottles or cheese boards everyone! Bring a homemade kitschy cocktail instead! This DIY hostess gift is perfect for spring and summer parties. Everyone always loves trying new and exotic things, so choose a drink that is off the beaten path like a Mango Lassi! Maybe you have heritage from a country that is known for a fun and interesting cocktail. Make that! Put your fab drink selection in an antique water bottle with a chalk paint label and straws and you have an amazing DIY hostess gift! You can get chalk paint labels at World Market for $3.99! Helpful hint: To make clean white writing with chalk is very hard so opt for a white paint pen! It will give the same affect and is much easier to write with!

Give the drink a cute name such as ” Maria’s Mango Lassi” for your hostess with the mostest! I love attaching paper straws to the bottle with a bow because it makes for a complete look as if you brought a “Drink Kit.” It also adds a kitschy element!

I make a lighter version of the traditional Mango Lassi. I think it is better for the hot spring and summer days.

Mango Lassi Recipe

2 Diced Mangos

1 Cup Plain Yogurt

1 Cup Skim Milk

1/3 Cup White Sugar

1 Cup Ice

1/2 Cup Canned Mango Pulp

Dash of Cardamom

Take all the ingredients and blend together in a blender until it is the consistency of a milkshake! YUMazing! Pour over ice for those hot spring and summer days!
