Who doesn’t want to dress up in a big, over the top hat and garden party dress while sipping champagne and watching hot ass polo players? NOBODY! That’s why I had to go to the infamous Vueve Clicquot Polo Classic in LA this past weekend. Honestly, it was one of the most fun events I have been to, and yes, partly because our table had endless champagne but also because of how well run and executed the party was. I was lucky enough to be invited to the VIP area and everything was beyond FAB! Only in LA can you turn your head and spot Christina Hendricks, Rachel Zoe, Anna Farris, Rosario Dawson, Allison Pill, Hannah Simone, Sanaa Lathan, not to mention the oh so Scandalous Tony Goldwyn, Scott Foley, and my favorite, Shark Tank’s Robert Herjavec, dressed to the nines and actually just enjoying themselves and the polo match like regular people.
You entered and immediately you were hit in the face with cuteness! Life size picture frames, rustic garden swings, men dressed up in orange suspenders and bow ties and of course champagne a flowin!
When we found our table, our personal Vueve Clicquot boy waited on us all afternoon, bringing picnic baskets overflowing with gourmet treats and cold bubbly.
Like any good polo match, or so they say, we trotted out onto the field during the half time and ceremoniously performed the stomping of the divots.
Basically, you head out onto the field to fill in any “pot holes” in the lawn that have been kicked up from the horses. It was a nice little time to get up and mingle, but be careful of the hot cakes if ya know what I mean. After hours of watching or more like drinking, the amazing DJ, Tendaji Lathan, turned the last hour into an epic dance party. Classy of course, but perhaps some table dancing. Not by me of course!
As the last bottle was popped, I realized I was totally pooped and headed back home, only immediately to get my tickets for next year’s event. Please do yourself a favor and mark your calendars for next years Vueve Clicquot polo classic. It will be one of the most fun events of the year! Cheers to that!
