Healthier DIY Desserts
Everyone loves a good dessert but hates what it does to their waistline! Save the money and skip dessert when out for dinner and opt for a healthier option that you can make at home. These healthier DIY desserts are super easy, taste yummy and are guilt free!
Banana “Ice Cream”:
1 Cup of Almonds
1/2 Cup of skim milk
Take the three bananas, skim milk and cup of almonds. Puree them together in a blender until smooth. Place it in the freezer for two hours and viola you have banana “ice cream”. The natural texture of frozen whipped banana imitates the ice cream you so dearly love but without all the fat and calories!
Hostess Handbook Tip- Add 1 scoop of Chocolate protein powder and you can really have dessert for breakfast!
0% Greek Yogurt
Use one cup of 0% Greek yogurt, 1/2 teaspoon of honey and handful of berries for every popsicle you want to make. Blend the ingredients together and put in popsicle mold. Freeze for 7 hours! The Hostess Handbook suggest you make a bunch of extra popsicles to have around the house for when your sweet tooth is aching!
